| Jodi M. Rubin, MS, LMFT Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Welcome to Arizona Child and Family Therapy Services located in Scottsdale, Arizona. I am here to help you find a safe and comfortable place to explore your feelings and make positive changes in your life or help your family find a new way to better themselves . I work from a Cognitive Behavioral approach to help change thinking skills and improve your ability to cope through life challenges and stress. I believe that all people have the ability to grow and change. For some of us, it just takes some guidance to find that true potential for healing. All people have the ability in themselves to move forward past any problem or mental health condition. I am able to provide support as you move through those difficult times in life and help you find a new way to feel more balance. I have been working in mental health care for over ten years in a myriad of settings. My schooling started with undergraduate in psychology from Bradley University and a Master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Friend's University in Kansas. I began my career as a family therapist in Kansas; interning at Solace House Grief and Loss center (specializing in grief and loss issues). I expanded my career to work with several mental health agencies in Phoenix, Arizona. I have worked in therapy services and supervisory roles at clinics and crisis centers where I worked in outpatient settings. I enjoy helping others to heal and feel that therapy is a way to expand our ability to function well. I work with a variety of issues and situations. Child therapy allows me to help the child or adolescent learn to move through the difficult stage of growing up. I can help your child to develop coping skills and social skills to help them develop security and self esteem within themselves. Children need a secure place to process their thoughts and feelings. I provide this experience for the child or teen to learn to identify, express, and share. Children and teens can come to my office to share painful events and work through all trauma in learning new ways to cope and regulate feelings. I provide a place where they can share and become comfortable with understanding how they feel. I work with couples to help re-build or improve current relationships. Marriage counseling is a process to help a couple grow and learn new skills to improve interactions, connections, and experiences. I can help your relationship move through conflict and find a deeper connection with the use of communication skills and relationship enhancement. Marital discord is something normal that most couples go through at some point in the marriage. Working with the couple, I can help the couple grow as individuals and as a team to continue to be able to discuss any conflict in a way that is healthy. My services help to instill hope and change through the use of techniques including: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Parenting Skills Training, and Attachment Therapy. I use Family Systems Theory to help families develop healthier relationships and foster positive communication in the hope of having a happier home. |
